Tis the Season
When I was relaxing at the pool on vacation I watched an airplane write in the sky. It said: Jesus Loves You. Everyone kind of stood around, staring at the sky. Some smiled, some laughed, some were in awe, but I think we all wondered who the message was for. Is someone trying to tell me something? Is it a message for mankind?
It doesn't matter what you believe in, I think what matters is that we all NEED to believe in something. What better time than the holiday season to think outside of ourselves...
Tis the season to believe.
Tis the season to give.
Tis the season to love.

One for the road
It is always sad to end a vacation. You wish for just one more day, especially when you are in a magical place. But as I sit here now at my computer, in my home, I know that I am right where I am supposed to be. It's good to be back in my element, looking back at my pictures, remembering the fun times I had in Walt Disney World. Can't wait to do it again next year!

Thanksgiving Wishes
As we approached Cinderella's Castle to check in for our Thanksgiving Dinner I couldn't help but think this is probably every little girl's dream. Sure enough, it was just as magical as I expected, but what put a smile on my face was seeing all the girls dressed up like their favorite princess, eyes wide, anxious to get a picture with their on-screen heroines. I have to admit, I felt quite excited myself to see Belle walk in the room and I love that no matter what your age, when you dine in the castle, you are treated like royalty.
It was a truly magical Thanksgiving and I am grateful for every minute.

Be Well
Today I had to say goodbye to two special ladies who, combined, served our company for almost 90 years. They were professional, kind, motherly, but in the end, unappreciated. Gone are the days of grande retirement parties and send offs from management. Gone are the days where senior employees are respected and revered. Gone are the days when companies care about their people.
This is a sign of the times. Our world is not the same. I've seen it change so much in just a few short years, and I'm afraid I've changed with it, for better or worse. I guess that's called survival.
I hope these ladies, and all of us, can look back with joy and look forward with hope.

Crazy Zucs
Cooking up one of my favorite pasta dishes: Broccoli and Zucchini with whole wheat penne in a tomato basil sauce. Don't forget the parmigiano reggiano. Yum!

Healthy
I am proud to say that my cholesterol and overall health is better than it's ever been. What better motivation to stay on track, continue running and eating healthy, than to know that it really does pay off?

Success
It took many shots and many, many jumps to capture this picture, but we finally did it! It wasn't taken today, but it was sent to me today and I couldn't resist using it as my blog pic of the day.
These days I kind of feel like jumping anyway :)

Just Do It
Today I was thinking about how anything worth having in life is never easy to get or keep.
Anyone can get married but how many can make it last?
Anyone can win the lottery but how many have earned their fortune?
Anyone can talk about what they WANT TO DO but how many MAKE IT HAPPEN?
Someone sent this to me today and it seemed so perfect...
"To get something you never had, you have to do something you never did."
Take the first step. Make it happen.

Floating
I crave inertia every move made so I can stop
Whatever this madness is in me spinning like a top
On a bed of anxiety over a deep dark drop
Down into nothingness, into without-you-ness
Was it ever so the evil creeped like ivy
A toehold on the stronger half of nature's dichotomy
I'm beating back a path through nothing more than pure insistence
Until here becomes the distance
Whatever this madness is in me spinning like a top
On a bed of anxiety over a deep dark drop
Down into nothingness, into without-you-ness
Was it ever so the evil creeped like ivy
A toehold on the stronger half of nature's dichotomy
I'm beating back a path through nothing more than pure insistence
Until here becomes the distance

She's a Brick House
Some are stronger than others,
Some harder to break,Some have taken years to build,
Some are resurrected in an instant.
It's the people who can see around them,
who can break them down,
who understand...
It's those people who matter.
It's those people you need to let in.Monday, November 1, 2010
