Another Auld Lang Syne

Here's to love, luck, happiness, health, and success in the new year! I'm bringing it in quietly tonight, which is nice. I'll ease my way in and ease my way through. I'll invite an abundance of positive things into my life and I will tackle any obstacles with both strength and grace. I will make goals and achieve them. I will give, I will love, I will smile. I hope the same for you.

"We drank a toast to innocence
We drank a toast to time
Reliving in our eloquence
Another 'auld lang syne'..."

Crayons to Perfume

"Those schoolgirl days of telling tales
and biting nails are gone.
But in my mind I know
They still live on and on..."

Digging Out

"Essential employee". Apparently that is what I am, as I was told to report to work today. 30" of snow, below freezing temperatures, but, hey, I'm essential! What ever happened to health and safety being our number one priority? Hmm.

How sweet it is...

to be loved by (all of) you!

This Christmas was full of touching surprises and family fun. It's sad that it's over already! Now on to a new year with new adventures and new memories!

"Burning the Days"

"Sometimes you are aware when your great moments are happening, and sometimes they rise from the past. Perhaps it's the same with people." James Salter

I wouldn't necessarily say this is one of the best books I've read, but it is definitely one that made me want to keep reading. It is one that stays with me...like I lived it. So, maybe that means it is one of the best books I've read, because isn't that the point of a good story? It stays with you.

#2 of 7

It was definitely a good idea to have a snack at Wegman's BEFORE I started my grocery shopping. Not only did it keep me from buying everything in sight, it also helped temper my aggravation with the hundreds of people who decided today was a good day to grocery shop.

Gluttony.

One Day...

...I will finish this book. My goal is to get halfway through it by the end of the weekend.

Silent Night

This is the first time, as far as I can remember, that I've been stricken with laryngitis. You don't know the value of your own voice until you lose it!

My Status

I found this great app on Facebook that chooses random statuses that you posted this year and compiles them into a collage. Although this is not a photograph, I thought it would be a fun post as we near the end of the year. It was great looking back on all my status updates, seeing how my moods and interests changed from day to day.

All is calm, all is bright...

What a beautiful night with my family! My mom surprised my step father with ornaments in memory of his parents and sister. The price of the ornaments go towards the Raritan Bay Medical Center where his family has always donated their time and money. The ornaments will be displayed there year-round.

For me, the best part was sitting down to dinner with everyone. We haven't all gotten together in so long, so it was nice to laugh and share old stories and toast to those who are watching over us. This has really been one of the best holiday season's I can remember and it's not over yet...

Chi-rific

I found the solution to all my hair woes today. Volumizing mousse and this big, fat curling iron. Love it.

It's the Little Things

I had a great time tonight, just walking around with my mom, looking at tupperware, handbags and sampling food. It's the little moments that mean the most.

The Coast is Clear

There was an exodus of birds from the trees
Cuz they didn't know
We were only pretending
And the people all looked up and looked pleased
And the birds flew around
Like the whole world was ending
I don't think war is noble
And I don't like to think love is like war
~Ani Difranco
